Core Intelligence Teacher Training Dates and Times, Winter 2008
Core Intelligence, Long Beach Dance Conditioning’s intensive 30-hour
“pre-Pilates” course, is excellent for practicing instructors or
movement therapists interested in expanding their knowledge and
improving the efficiency of their tactile and verbal cueing. It is also
a prerequisite for LBDC's Pilates Leadership Concepts, an elite
professional teacher training for certification program.
LBDC Certified Teacher and GYROTONIC®
instructor Lisa Peterson Perry will teach the course. A unique
PowerPoint presentation will thoroughly illustrate the musculature and
biomechanics of the core system, while students will apply their
knowledge in labs as instructors and clients. The course fee includes
an extensive manual and a certificate of completion; Pilates Method
Alliance and ACE continuing education credits will also be granted to
practicing instructors.
LBDC is increasingly known as the most scientifically advanced
technique of Pilates instruction due to its unparalleled emphasis on
anatomy, movement biomechanics, postural analysis and custom-tailored
program design. Founder Marie-José Blom's dedication to the integration
of ongoing scientific discoveries into traditional Pilates methods has
made the LBDC technique a truly progressive, visionary approach.

SmartSpine™ Workshop
The innovative SmartSpine™ System is a teaching aid for all basic
Pilates and Therapeutic movement approaches. Created by master trainer
Marie-José Blom, it consists of several support pieces designed to help
the body find it's most productive positioning. By supporting the
skeletal and joint system in alignment, the neural system is retrained
to recruit the deep muscles while releasing the overactive muscles.
This virtual coach is the next best thing to having a teacher's guiding
eye and touch at your constant disposal.
All participants will be required to: purchase a manual at time of
registration, bring a pro-kit to the workshop (If you need to purchase
a pro-kit please contact Lisa Perry at intelligentmotion@yahoo.com,
discount is offered for workshop participants)
